Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including Staff Accountants, Payroll, and AP team members
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team environment
Serve as backup support for payroll and accounts payable functions as needed
Partner with the Controller to support accounting oversight for affiliated entities
Plan, organize, and execute the monthly close process
Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements
Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
Drive improvements to shorten and streamline the month-end close cycle
Manage lease accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 842 and ASC 606
Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance
Monitor adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely audit and tax deliverables
Assist the Controller and CFO with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and variance analysis
Support financial modeling and ad-hoc analysis to inform executive and operational decision-making
Partner with operations teams to provide financial insights that support growth and performance
Drive accounting process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
Assist with implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools (including DataRails and other accounting technologies)
Assess system enhancements to improve reporting accuracy, automation, and visibility
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Accounting or MBA
3+ years of experience in an accounting leadership role within an audited environment
Strong understanding of GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842
High proficiency with accounting ERP systems
Experience improving or revamping accounting processes and technology
Experience working with payroll and HRIS platforms
Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to adapt to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
CPA or CMA
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or DataRails
Background in a multi-site healthcare organization and/or private-equity-backed company
