Senior Electrical Engineer
Clarapath is a medical robotics company based in Westchester County, NY. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of electrical systems for their advanced electro-mechanical medical device, SectionStar™. The role involves collaborating across teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance with medical device standards.

Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems for complex electro-mechanical medical devices
Own PCB design and review, including schematic capture, component selection, layout oversight, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
Design and document wiring diagrams, cable assemblies, and electrical harnesses
Develop and support power distribution, control systems, and signal integrity solutions
Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless system integration
Support embedded hardware development and interface with firmware/software teams on requirements and debugging
Drive electrical design through prototyping, testing, verification, and production release
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues at the system, board, and component levels
Author and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, test plans, reports, and design history file (DHF) artifacts
Ensure designs comply with applicable safety, EMC, and regulatory standards for medical devices
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior electrical engineers
Support supplier selection, vendor communication, and design reviews with external partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
7+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within medical devices, robotics, or complex electromechanical systems
Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design
Proven experience with PCB design tools and electrical CAD software
Solid understanding of embedded hardware systems and interfaces (MCUs, sensors, motors, power electronics)
Experience designing power systems, motor controls, and low-noise signal paths
Ability to read, create, and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
Hands-on experience with lab equipment and electrical debugging
Familiarity with design controls and regulated product development environments
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
Preferred
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience in FDA-regulated medical device development, a plus
Knowledge of IEC/UL safety standards and EMC compliance testing, a plus
Experience supporting products from early R&D through manufacturing scale-up, a plus
Exposure to firmware development or scripting for hardware testing, a plus
