Technician I

Responsibilities

Installs equipment including but not limited to IP based cameras, antennas, detectors, network equipment, controller cabinets
Install and troubleshoot electrical conductors, data conductors, fiber optic cables
Uses in-house software to troubleshoot system issues
Terminates conductors to equipment including CAT6 cables
Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment
Tests multiple devices to ensure they work correctly
Enters detailed information on electronic work orders

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Installs equipment including but not limited to IP based cameras, antennas, detectors, network equipment, controller cabinets

Terminates conductors to equipment including CAT6 cables
Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk
The employee is occasionally required to sit
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
