Responsibilities
Manage patient accounts and balances
Ensure accurate billing and timely claims processing to maximize reimbursement
Serve as the primary resource for patients, staff, and payers, tackling financial questions and resolving insurance issues
Answer patient calls about account balances and financial assistance options
Assist with payment plans and process refunds efficiently
Investigate denied claims and monitor aging accounts to ensure that all discrepancies are addressed
Collaborate with clinical staff and third-party payers to reconcile payments and maintain precise account records
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma / GED required
2-3+ years of healthcare experience including patient account management billing or revenue cycle functions
Experience with third-party payors, ICD-10/CPT codes, prior authorizations, claims follow-up, and patient refunds
Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
Preferred
Associate's or higher preferred
Knowledge of Athena EMR or similar systems preferred
