Senior AWS Cloud Systems Administrator
Core4ce is seeking an AWS Cloud Systems Administrator to support cloud-based infrastructure and platform services for a Defense Health Agency (DHA) program. This role involves managing AWS environments and ensuring the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of AWS-hosted systems within a secure DoD healthcare environment.
Information Services
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day AWS environments, including EC2 instances, AMIs, auto-scaling groups, VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, NACLs, and load balancers
Monitor system performance and availability with CloudWatch and other approved tools
Provision, configure, patch, and decommission cloud resources following change processes
Administer Linux and/or Windows systems hosted in AWS
Manage user access, IAM roles, policies, and service accounts following least-privilege principles
Support backups, snapshots, and disaster recovery readiness
Follow SOPs and runbooks for operational tasks
Implement and maintain AWS security best practices, including vulnerability remediation, STIG compliance, and audit support
Execute Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and support CI/CD pipeline operations
Provide system inputs for RMF/ATO documentation, security compliance, and DHA/DoD policies
Document incidents, changes, and resolutions in ticketing systems
Participate in on-call rotations or scheduled maintenance as needed

Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience supporting cloud, systems administration, or IT operations
Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain)
Foundational knowledge of: AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch), Linux and/or Windows system administration, Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management processes
Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate issues appropriately
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
