Mechanical Engineer Co-Op
Storion Energy is a joint venture focused on commercializing Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries within the United States. The Mechanical Engineering Co-op will support the product development team by contributing to battery stack development, product design initiatives, and hands-on testing in the electrochemical lab.

Working on product development
Hands-on testing in the electrochemical lab and shop floor
Operation of pilot-scale equipment and machinery
Data collection, processing, and analysis
Designing and modeling stack parts, GD&T, and subassemblies within SolidWorks
Generating and modifying manufacturing drawings and applying GD&T
Performing tolerance stack-up analysis
Performing preliminary structural analysis within SolidWorks
Performing design calculations related to strength, temperature, and flow for the stack parts
Design for Manufacture and Assembly
Assembly, testing, debugging, and documentation for mechanical fixtures and devices
Experimental design (DOE)
Root cause analysis
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis

Qualification
Required
Working towards BS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum GPA of 3.0
You must have housing and transportation to our Wilmington, MA location. Public transportation is not available to our office
You must be able and willing to work with battery electrolyte, which is acidic and requires wearing PPE (lab coat, gloves, safety glasses or goggles, and other job specific PPE)
Ability to lift 30 pound boxes of parts
