Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
Maintain and monitor general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness
Assist with consolidation of multiple entities (if applicable)
Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies
Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation
Identify areas for control improvement and support remediation efforts
Support annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting updates
Provide financial analysis to department leaders to aid strategic decision‑making
Monitor budget-to-actual performance and explain key drivers
Assist with cash flow reporting, cost tracking, and margin analysis
Evaluate existing workflows and recommend efficiencies or automation opportunities
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership teams

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate at all levels
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail
