Development Assistant

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is a leading nonprofit organization that drives principled solutions through rigorous analysis and respectful dialogue. They are seeking a Development Assistant to provide administrative support to the Development Team, assist with donor correspondence, and maintain Development records.

Responsibilities

Provide primary administrative and clerical support for the Development team, including the planning, coordination, and execution of meetings and events (e.g., coordinating calendars, preparing materials, taking and distributing notes, and coordinating follow-up activities)
Assist in maintaining Development records including constituent information in the CRM system and team files in SharePoint
Assist with donor correspondence including donation acknowledgments and fundraising outreach on behalf of the Manager Director and the Development team
Conduct and compile research on current and prospective donors, including creating briefing materials for BPC’s senior executives
Assist team in keeping up with the latest fundraising industry best practices by regularly reading relevant magazines, attending webinars and absorbing other materials to share

Required

1 to 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in fundraising, communications or administrative role at a nonprofit or political organization
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of or willingness to learn Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce
Familiarity with fundraising processes and tools, including CRM software and wealth screening software
Demonstrated ability to conduct research, compile findings and synthesize information for a lay audience
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; ability to drive projects independently and collaborate with a team
Proven organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive donor, political, and organizational strategy information
Commitment to BPC's mission and ability to translate that passion into compelling written communications for donors and stakeholders

Previous scheduling experience is preferred
