Responsibilities
Provide thought leadership on challenging problems at the intersection of AI/ML and computational biology
Lead the design and development of computational tools that will accelerate molecular diagnostics R&D
Build AI/ML models to characterize pathogens from whole genome sequences
Explore applications of genomic language models to supervise learning tasks for sequence data
Design and implement robust model evaluation frameworks to assess production readiness to meet regulatory and commercialization requirements
Qualification
Required
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Biology or a related field and relevant experience as follows: Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of experience; Master's degree and 7+ years of experience; or Doctoral degree and 4+ years of experience
Strong foundation in ML / statistical learning fundamentals and hypothesis driven experimental design, including deep learning, statistical modeling, classification, regression
Experience with Python data and ML stack (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax)
Experience developing ML models in a modern cloud environment
Ability to travel; expected 5% overnight travel
Preferred
Machine learning models for sequence data
Familiarity with bioinformatic pipelines and sequencing databases
Developing machine learning models for healthcare and regulatory applications
