InternThe Ohio Department of Taxation is responsible for the administration of individual and business taxes across the state. They are seeking multiple College Interns to work in their Tax Operating Divisions, providing hands-on experience in taxation and related tasks.

Responsibilities
Problem-solving tax issues, resolving items in suspense, assisting in revenue deposits, entering information regarding deposits and transfers, working on special projects, etc
Learn to read and interpret section Title 57 (Taxation) of the Ohio Revised Code and Chapter 5703 of the Ohio Administrative Code
Collaborate with management and peers on new ideas
Interact with taxpayers via phone, live-chat and web messaging
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be enrolled in college to qualify
Technical Skills: Accounting and Finance
Professional Skills: Active Learning, Attention to Detail, Customer Focus, Teamwork
The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check
Section 2961 of the Ohio Revised Code prohibits individuals convicted of a felony including but not limited to fraud, deceit, or theft from holding a position that has substantial management or control over the property of a state agency
Additionally, section 5703.081 of the Ohio Revised Code requires the Ohio Department of Taxation employees to promptly file and pay tax returns
