Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative research and prepare peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and technical reports to disseminate research findings
Contribute to the development of research proposals, including literature review, preliminary results, and methodological descriptions
Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and external research partners in an interdisciplinary research environment
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to graduate and undergraduate researchers, as appropriate
Maintain well-documented research methods, workflows, and data, following best practices for reproducibility and research integrity

Required

PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, completed by the start date of the appointment
Demonstrated research experience in computational models and design, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, dissertation research, or prior postdoctoral or doctoral work
Experience conducting independent research, including model development, data analysis, and interpretation of results
Ability to communicate research results effectively, demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, conference presentations, or written research statements
Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment
