Energy Services Technical Supervisor

Missouri River Energy Services is a joint action agency based in Sioux Falls, SD, dedicated to supporting member municipalities with energy services. The Energy Services Technical Supervisor will lead technical activities to implement energy efficiency programs and beneficial electrification initiatives, ensuring reliable service delivery to energy customers.

Responsibilities

Directs and implements the delivery of technical support, energy calculations, and analysis for demand management, energy efficiency and efficient electrification products and services through the members to their energy customers
Researches applicable technologies and recommends new programs or program modifications for use by members and their customers
Supervises, designs, implements and oversees pilot and field projects and studying demand reduction or beneficial electrification technologies
Coordinates the development of relationships with trade allies, consultants and other vendors, and monitors their performance
Serves as representative to Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and ensures appropriate communications between the two organizations. Monitors research and transfers technology findings to MRES staff and members as appropriate
Collaborates with MRES Communications team on the promotion and delivery of MRES demand-management and other energy services programs
Oversees and maintains the internal database documenting demand and energy savings, incentives, and equipment qualification requirements for BES programs
Oversees and maintains the tracking software for MRES demand management and energy efficiency programs. This includes MRES and member user license administration, regular data uploads and system enhancements, issue resolution, and on-going functionality development
Assists in developing departmental budget requirements
Practices and adheres to industry and customer’s safety requirements
Represents the MRES on industry, development, and project committees, task forces, and conferences as assigned
Stays informed on relevant professional, industry, and inter‑utility developments
Travel up to 20% of the work schedule with occasional overnight stays and national travel

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, environmental, or industrial engineering or a related field from four-year college or university and five years related experience and/or training to include supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, statistics concepts, and electric engineering theory with particular focus on commercial and industrial electric usage in practical applications
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
Knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, and Project Management software
Must possess Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential from the Association of Energy Engineers or be able to earn credential within 12 months of hire date
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
