IT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Fort Defiance Indian Hospital Board, Inc. is seeking an IT System Administrator to manage and support their information systems. The role involves determining system requirements, deploying and troubleshooting server platforms, and ensuring the integrity and availability of hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities
Works independently or in collaboration with others to determine information system requirements including data storage performance and capacity, data backup strategies, server deployment, network connectivity and bandwidth requirements
Prepares or coordinates cost analysis, procurement of hardware/software, impact analysis and other studies used in evaluation of alternative solutions of meeting information system needs of the organization
Serves as the subject expert matter in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting arrays of Microsoft Windows server platforms, roles and features, and network services (ie, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, LDAP, RDS, DHCP, File and Print Services, Hyper-V, & Backup) such as supports critical clinical and administrative support systems (i.e., Electronic Health Records, Financial, Human Resource Applications)
Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, key processes, security, application logs, and verifying completion of backups and updates
Performs daily backup operations, ensures all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, secured off site as necessary
Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment and systems
Provides support for problems reported and/or per request from users and investigates and troubleshoot issues
Serves as a technical consultant to support other widely used Microsoft Windows products
Prepares contract specifications for hardware/software procurement and service agreements in collaboration with colleagues. Consults and monitors contractors/vendors to ensure services are adequately performed; contract or service agreements obligations are meet
Plans and conducts meetings to ensure understanding of contractual requirements. Establishes work schedule with contractors/vendors and monitors progress, developing and maintaining systems to evaluate performance related to delivery and cost, identifies potential problem areas and initiates remedial actions
Identifies information systems requirements of end-users, tests and interpret the performance and functionality of hardware and software. Performs and coordinates the processes of acceptance testing, benchmark testing and other testing processes to evaluate acceptability of servers, applications, and systems in meeting information system requirements
Performs and coordinates the performance of post-implementation impact analysis on efficiency and effectiveness of servers, software applications and related systems
Analyzes and coordinates the analysis of server utilization, and provides documentation on daily operating procedures, equipment environments, data security measures and preventive maintenance. Prepares written policies, standard operating procedures, system standards and operational plans for server management in collaboration with colleagues
Develops tools, procedures, and training sessions for System Administrators; including implementation, operation, maintenance and support of servers, new technology, software, hardware, local and wide area networks, network computers, and software/applications; also coordinates these activities with the site management personal
Stays current with information technology development in analytical methods, system security principles, methods, solutions, policies and best practices, workflow processes performed by hospital and clinic staff
Travels to field sites, clinical sites, and mobile telehealth sites to assist in training, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance and support of these functions
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

RESUME AND REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED
Four (4) years of direct work experience
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
