Customer Service/Collections Specialist

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Service/Collections Specialist to join their finance team. The role involves managing collections and maintaining positive customer relationships while ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.

Responsibilities

Manage and follow up on property collections to optimize revenue cycle management
Handle accounts receivable and perform account analysis to identify overdue payment
Utilize financial software to process transactions and update records
Communicate effectively with customers via phone using proper phone etiquette to discuss balances and payment options
Negotiate payment plans with customers while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues requiring resolution

Required

Proven experience in property collections, accounts receivable, or related financial roles within a property tax lender setting
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle patient inquiries professionally
Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation
Effective negotiation skills to facilitate payment arrangements while preserving customer relationships
Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic math skills for accurate calculations and data entry
MS Office Suite, CRM loan servicing platforms required
5 years customer service, account management, collections in financial services background preferred
High school or equivalent (Required)
customer service : 5 years (Required)
Financial services: 3 years (Required)

Preferred

Knowledge of telemarketing techniques is a plus but not required
Bilingual skills a plus
