Staff Engineer, Battery Engineering

The Battery Engineer will work closely with technical teams and business partners to design experiments, analyze data, and ensure the success of consumer electronics customer programs.

Responsibilities
Own technical success of multiple consumer electronics customer programs
Design, carry out, and analyze experiments to test the performance of cells made using Sila’s materials against customer’s requirements
Effectively communicate ideas, plans, and results externally to customers and internally across diverse Sila teams
Facilitate technical collaboration between groups at Sila and with external customers
Invest in our company values and vision and champion them as we grow
Qualification
Required
Ability to carefully plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously
Strong technical background, experience with lithium-ion batteries is a MUST
Well-organized and data-driven approach to problem solving and experimental design, driven by curiosity and attention to detail
Proficiency in using databases, and data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, etc
Exceptional communication abilities with both internal groups and external customers; Mandarin language fluency is a plus
Direct experience working with customers
Understanding of lab safety best practices
Experience taking products out of the lab and into the market is a plus
At least a B.S. in engineering or science and 7+ years of experience in batteries or related field (fewer for candidates with an advanced degree)
