Assistant Registrar, Curriculum and Compliance
California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking an Assistant Registrar for Curriculum and Compliance to provide leadership and oversight for Degree Audit and Degree Planner systems. The role involves ensuring accurate implementation of curriculum changes and supporting student success initiatives while supervising Analysts responsible for curriculum rule construction and validation.

Responsibilities
Construct, configure, and maintain Degree Audit and Degree Planner systems and related curriculum rules (e.g., courses, transfer credit)
Ensure Degree Audit, Planner, and Academic Structure coding accurately reflects and enforces CSULB policies (e.g., General Education, Major Specific Declaration Criteria, new degree programs) across all undergraduate and post-baccalaureate programs
Serve as lead for Analysts: monitor unit operations; assign work; reinforce priorities; and provide feedback, coaching, and performance input to supervisor. Provide hands-on support with coding, troubleshooting, training, and issue resolution
Lead and perform user acceptance testing and regression testing for changes, custom developments, and upgrades to ensure data integrity, usability, and alignment with university business needs
Participate in campus committees and student success initiatives related to Advising systems and curriculum accuracy
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in applicable field and three years of related work experience required
Thorough knowledge of academic policies and procedures related to curriculum, transfer credit rules, and degree audit processes
Expert proficiency in online student information systems, imaging systems, articulation tools, and degree audit systems
Skilled at analyzing user needs and translating them into clear technical specifications
Ability to design and maintain complex rule structures
Ability to research data requirements and access methods
Subject matter expertise in transfer credit articulation, transfer admission, graduation processes, and the technologies that support these functions
Ability to effectively interpret and apply academic and administrative policies within the degree audit system
Strong judgment and independence in completing assignments
Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships
Commitment to exceptional customer service
Ability to treat students, faculty, and staff with dignity, empathy, fairness, and professionalism
Ability to maintain comprehensive documentation of responsibilities
Ability to uphold data integrity through adherence to approved processes and testing protocols
