The US Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for managing various operations related to natural resources. Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall management and coordination of the various and diverse programs and functions of Rend Lake
Manages the execution of all relevant missions at Rend Lake, such as recreation, environmental stewardship, flood risk management and water supply
As Operations Manager, utilizes a high degree of managerial ability and technical knowledge to plan, assign, direct, and review work of operations of subordinates’, supervisors, employees, and contractors
Responsible for personnel administration by assigning work, recommending promotion or reassignment of subordinate employees and supervisors, and making formal appraisals of work performance
Promotes the full utilization of project resources through contact with numerous Federal, State and municipal agencies, private and public organizations, large commercial concessions, industrial interests, and interested individuals
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing project management strategies in the creation and communication of Project Plans that develops and shares detailed schedules (timelines, milestones), and clear objectives for the team; 2) Demonstrating control over project costs, procurement, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of materials, people, and tech; and 3) Proactively identifying, analyzing, and providing solutions to escalated technical or logistical challenges that arise during design and construction; and 4) Supervising and developing staff through personnel actions, performance reviews, and administrations of personnel policies
Must complete a one-year supervisory probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed
Business travel required 25% of the time
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
This position is designated as Non-Sensitive-No access security clearance
