IBM Sterling Consultant - B2Bi/MFT

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support solutions using the IBM Sterling Suite, including:
Lead and support B2B integration initiatives involving trading partner onboarding, large-file transfers, and protocol management (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, etc.)
Configure and manage routing rules, business processes (BPML), maps, certificates, and trading partner profiles
Define and support Sterling container strategies, including containerized deployments, environment standardization, and operational best practices
Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines for Sterling components, enabling automated builds, deployments, configuration promotion, and rollback strategies
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize file transfers and integrations using Sterling Control Center and platform-level diagnostics
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver reliable, scalable integration solutions
Provide guidance on architecture, performance tuning, resiliency, and best practices within enterprise Sterling environments
Support production environments, including incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Mentor junior resources and contribute to documentation, standards, and knowledge sharing across the team
Qualification
Required
Strong, hands-on experience with the IBM Sterling Suite, including: Sterling File Gateway (SFG), Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi), Sterling Connect:Direct, Sterling Control Center
Proven experience supporting end-to-end B2B integration workflows, not limited to a single Sterling module
Experience with Sterling containerization strategies (e.g., Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments, environment isolation, scaling, and operational readiness)
Experience designing or supporting CI/CD pipelines for Sterling applications and configurations
Solid understanding of file transfer protocols, B2B standards, and large-file handling
Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-component Sterling environments
Experience operating in enterprise, high-availability, mission-critical environments
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as a senior consultant
Preferred
Experience in large-scale or global Sterling implementations
Knowledge of security, certificates, encryption, and compliance within B2B integrations
Prior experience in a consulting or customer-facing role
Familiarity with hybrid or cloud-based integration architectures
