Responsibilities

Manage full‑cycle payroll processing for exempt and non‑exempt employees
Ensure payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, California, and San Francisco regulations
Maintain payroll records, employee deductions, and benefits integration
Reconcile payroll reports and coordinate with HR on employee changes
Lead year‑end processes, including W‑2s and payroll‑related audits
Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and monthly close
Prepare account reconciliations, accruals, and financial schedules
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management
Assist with external audits and tax filings as needed
Optimize payroll and accounting workflows for accuracy and efficiency
Maintain and improve internal controls over financial operations
Partner with internal teams to enhance financial reporting and data integrity

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5–8+ years of experience in payroll and accounting roles
Strong knowledge of California and San Francisco payroll regulations
Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, Gusto, or similar)
Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and integrity
Ability to thrive in a part‑time, high‑impact, independently-managed role
