Product Manager
Rate is one of the nation’s top retail mortgage lenders, delivering a seamless, tech-driven experience that helps customers reach their homeownership and financial goals. They are seeking a mid-level Product Manager to support the development and enhancement of their fee services and pricing-related platforms, partnering closely with engineering teams and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant delivery of services.
Responsibilities
Own and support product areas related to fee services, pricing, and investor delivery integrations
Work with engineering to define requirements for APIs and services that integrate with pricing engines, LOS platforms, and downstream systems
Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation for fee and pricing-related enhancements
Collaborate with stakeholders across pricing, capital markets, operations, and compliance to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory needs
Support integrations with pricing engines (e.g., Optimal Blue or similar) and Loan Origination Systems (e.g., Encompass or equivalent)
Assist with prioritization and roadmap execution for assigned product areas
Participate in testing, validation, and release readiness to ensure accuracy and quality of fee and pricing calculations
Analyze issues, defects, and data discrepancies to help identify root causes and support resolution
Monitor market and industry changes that may impact pricing, fees, or investor delivery workflows
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of experience in product management or a related role
Experience in the mortgage industry, preferably with exposure to pricing, fee services, investor delivery, or capital markets workflows
Familiarity with pricing engines such as Optimal Blue (or similar PPE platforms)
Experience supporting or integrating with Loan Origination Systems (Encompass or equivalent)
Comfort working with APIs and service-based architectures, including defining inputs, outputs, and edge cases
Strong understanding of agile product development practices, including backlog management and ticket writing
Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, operations, and business teams
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, especially in pricing or financial calculations
Clear communication skills and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable requirements
