Responsibilities
Design, develop, customize, and support power systems applications for transmission, including load flow, contingency analysis, and related functionalities
Implement and support Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Transmission EMS solutions for electric utilities
Work with SCADA, Power DMS, and Transmission EMS platforms
Develop and maintain applications using C++, Java, and SQL/Oracle databases
Support real-time and mission-critical systems, including troubleshooting and live system fixes
Install patches and fixes on production customer systems
Analyze system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective resolutions
Review logs, debug issues, and support systems running on Linux and Windows environments
Participate in client discussions, technical reviews, and solution design sessions
Document solutions, technical findings, and implementation details clearly and effectively
Qualification
Required
6–8 years of overall experience in relevant technical roles
Strong experience delivering and customizing Energy Management Systems (EMS) for electric power utilities
Hands-on experience with Transmission EMS, SCADA, and grid-related systems
Proficiency in C, C++, Java, and SQL / Oracle Database
Strong object-oriented programming (OOPS) skills
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, including shell scripting and log analysis
Background working on real-time or mission-critical systems
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in live environments
Ability to manage client-facing discussions and technical reviews
Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
Candidates must currently be located in the U.S
Fluent English is required
Preferred
Experience with EMS/AEMS products (design and development)
Familiarity with industry platforms and solutions from vendors such as Siemens, ABB, Alstom, OSI, and Schneider
Strong understanding of power transmission systems and grid operations
Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar
