Sales Development Representative (Technical / Legal Tech)

August is a company focused on building AI solutions to enhance the efficiency of law firms. They are looking for a Senior Sales Development Representative to manage their outbound sales efforts, work closely with AEs, and develop a deep understanding of their AI workflows to effectively engage potential clients.

Responsibilities

Own top-of-funnel execution
Build targeted account lists, research firms and practice areas, and run outbound across email, LinkedIn, events, and referrals. Partner tightly with AEs to convert high-quality meetings into real pipeline
Qualify deeply, not shallowly
Run first calls that go beyond surface-level BANT. Understand firm structure, workflows, pain points, data sensitivity, and buying dynamics. Set up AEs for successful technical demos and closes
Be product-fluent
Develop a strong understanding of August's AI workflows, document handling, and integrations. Confidently speak to lawyers about real use cases, not just features
Market and segment intelligently
Help define ICPs by firm size, geography, practice area, and maturity. Identify which segments convert best and feed insights back into GTM strategy
Support field GTM and events
Help prep for conferences, pre-book meetings, support on-site demos, and turn conversations into pipeline and follow-ups
Sharpen the outbound engine
Test messaging, sequences, positioning, and value propositions. Track what works, kill what doesn't, and continuously improve conversion rates
Contribute to sales enablement
Document objections, competitive intel, messaging frameworks, and call notes so the whole team gets better faster

Required

Strong commercial instincts
Comfort with technical products

2–5 years in SDR, BDR, sales, consulting, or a similarly rigorous commercial role

Preferred

Experience with HubSpot or Salesforce
Familiarity with Apollo, ZoomInfo, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Exposure to legal tech, B2B SaaS, or AI products
Experience selling to professional services firms
Interest in long-cycle, consultative sales
