Regional Sales Manager - Industrial Water Treatment - Western USA
Campbell Wood Search is partnered with a leading company specializing in custom water treatment systems. They are adding an experienced Regional Sales Manager to cover their Western US territory focused on the Industrial market, responsible for identifying new opportunities and managing sales targets.
Responsibilities
Identify new industrial opportunities in the region as well as maintain existing customers
Manage achievement of annual sales targets and project margins
Understands bidding processes to end users and general contractors
Develop a thorough understanding of company products to be able to discuss credibly with engineers and potential customers
Prepare proposals, including working with engineering to price capital equipment to respond to RFPs and bids
Review project T&Cs and work with legal and accounting to ensure contracts meet company requirements
Develop relationships with design engineers, external sales reps, vendor partners and end users to find opportunities and get company equipment specified for projects
Identify opportunities for rental of mobile systems in industrial markets
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates
Outlines, presents, and sells the value of how company products and services can benefit the customer’s needs
Represents company at tradeshows to promote products and offerings
Delivers sales presentations to key clients directly and in coordination with external sales representatives
Actively participates in negotiating and closing deals
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
Effectively manages time and budget or expense parameters
Participates in visits to plants, engineering offices to promote our products, identify opportunities and develop networks
Work with other departments in the company to handover orders for engineering and production
Other tasks, duties and projects as assigned
Ability to travel (up to 50%)
Qualification
Required
Selling large capital projects >$1M per project, and ideally experienced selling projects >$3M each
Capital sales in industries such as power, mining, chemicals, petrochemical, data centres/semiconductor
Products sold include membrane systems, filtration systems and other process technology – must be experienced in selling water treatment process equipment, not components or products (pumps, screens, valves etc)
Experience in selling the above is for at least 5 years and relatively recent. Not something that was done over 10 years ago
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Ability to write presentation and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or customers/contractors
Very good written skills for preparation of proposals and other sales documents
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
Ability to travel (up to 50%)
Preferred
Experience selling membrane, filtration equipment is preferred
