Responsibilities

The employee in this position performs regulatory activities handling applications for the pharmacy profession
Assisting consumers and licensees who are currently licensed or seeking licensure in Florida
The incumbent in this position is required to understand statutes and Department and/or Board rules
Exercise independent judgement in dealing with consumers and licensees
This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing and to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others
Independently reviews, investigates, and processes applications in accordance with statutory and rule requirements
Requests and obtains supplementary information as required from the applicant in order to make a determination regarding eligibility for licensure
Make recommendations to the Board of those applicants whose credentials are in question
Serves as back up relay person answering multi-line phone for the Pharmacy board office
Answer and provide accurate information to callers assigned
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in writing and verbally
Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative in carrying out assignments
Ability to learn, understand, and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures for licensing
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities to meet strict deadlines
Ability to concentrate, provide great attention to detail, and maintain a pre-approved work schedule
Ability to work independently and establish and maintain dependable, effective working relationships with others
Ability to learn and utilize job-specific software such as LEIDS and AxiomPro and office equipment such as phones, fax machines, scanners, and copiers
Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office software and in using Windows-based computers
High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years' experience that includes data entry, document preparation, computer software use, evaluating legal documents or evaluating for compliance with regulations, customer service, or handling sensitive information
College education can substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
All Florida Department of Health positions require the incumbent to be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English
