Chamber Operations Manager

Responsibilities
Assists Deputy Assistant Sergeants at Arms, Chamber Security and Chamber Support with staffing and oversight of operations for the House Chamber
Administers and manages staff schedules and inquiries
Controls entry to the House Floor or Speaker's Lobby by recognizing Members and checking credentials of other authorized personnel, such as staff and members of the media
Requests Members from the House Floor for staff, constituents and members of the media
Brings authenticated bills and other official documents into the House Chamber
Assists with the coordination of the evacuation of the House Chamber to include, directing Members to the Member Briefing Center, alternate Chamber sites, and established safe havens
Assists with the emergency lockdown of the House Chamber
Assists with the distribution and explanation of escape hoods
Activates and utilizes emergency stair chairs for persons confined to wheelchairs
Provides access control for All-Member briefings and meetings as requested
Supports House Recovery Operations structure
Supports the management of special events and operations for the House Gallery to include Joint Sessions of Congress, Member groups, and other highly attended functions
Primary duty when out of session includes managing Chamber Support staff, House Gallery access, and House Floor access for Member and staff-led Floor tours
Facilitates access and enforce the rules of the House for all visitors to the House Chamber, to include managing Member & staff-led Floor tour schedules
Organizes staff-led tour logs and data, serving as staff manager
Assists with administrative tasks and organizational support for the division of Chamber Operations
Performs other official duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Two to four years of experience is preferred
Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations and work persistently when facing obstacles
Ability to work well in ambiguous situations, adjust quickly to change, and easily consider new approaches
Ability to foster a sense of unity and trust within teams, breaking down silos and promoting teamwork across departments

Knowledge of different writing techniques for different document types and purposes
