Responsibilities
Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc
Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited program relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience or an MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience
Must be able to do pipe stress analysis
Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1
Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees
Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment
Requires a DOE Q security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
Must be a U.S. citizen
Successful drug screening
Preferred
Experience with AutoPipe is a plus but not required
Experience in Nuclear Regulatory Commission or U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulated environment is desirable
