Responsibilities

Provide executive leadership and hands-on oversight for clinical services across all clinics, including our Orthopaedic Injury Express Urgent Care locations, ensuring efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care
Lead daily operations for Injury Express Urgent Care centers in multiple Triangle locations, including real-time problem-solving and resolving issues that affect patient care, provider efficiency, or clinic flow
Directly supervise, mentor, and performance-manage Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), clinical leaders, and staff (in partnership with HR)
See and treat orthopedic urgent care patients independently, using your expertise—including interpreting X-rays and managing acute injuries
Build and adjust staffing models, schedules, payroll, and coverage to support all clinics and service lines effectively
Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development for clinical teams
Act as the key liaison between physicians, APPs, staff, and leadership to improve workflows, scheduling, and operational efficiency
Lead process improvements to enhance patient flow, care quality, and efficiency in urgent care and clinic settings
Manage surgery scheduling workflows, partnering with teams to optimize block time, reduce cancellations, and use tools like LeanTaas, Surgimate, or IQSC
Create and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for clinical operations, referrals, staffing, and EMR workflows
Collaborate with the EMR team to optimize systems, train staff, and drive adoption of updates
Track labor costs, overtime, and key metrics; implement solutions to control costs and boost performance
Partner with physicians, leaders, and marketing to grow the Injury Express brand and expand services
Ensure full compliance with regulations (HIPAA, quality standards, etc.) and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Required

Licensed Physician Assistant in North Carolina (active, unrestricted)
Graduation from an accredited PA program
Board certification
Active DEA license
At least 5 years of orthopedic clinical experience (clinic and/or urgent care settings)
Solid understanding of orthopedic clinic and urgent care operations
Comfort with EMR systems and data-driven decisions

Preferred

5+ years in clinical leadership or management
Experience leading urgent care, multi-site operations, or similar fast-paced settings
Background in staffing optimization, performance management, service line growth
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, accreditation, risk management, and quality improvement
Experience with Athena EMR is a plus
