Performance Engineer - Thermal

Responsibilities
Develop and categorize component, subsystem, and system-level thermal performance to established specifications
Develop countermeasures to ensure component performance meets program needs
Integrate components into vehicle-level subsystems for thermal performance
Develop and validate subsystems to meet all defined requirements
Utilize data acquisition tools, analysis tools, simulations, climatic wind tunnels, proving grounds, and other facilities for development activities
Generate and execute technical solutions to support new vehicle programs
Provide technical leadership for advanced component or technology development
Perform complex design analyses and evaluate engineering designs
Work cross-functionally to implement cost reduction, improve methods, enhance product quality, and support prototype and production builds
Balance engineering tradeoffs, including cost, mass, complexity, and timing
Communicate technical information to internal and external stakeholders
Stay current on new technology and competitive products
Identify and document issues using PRTS and 48-hour reports
Complete Final Validation Reports demonstrating compliance to VTS prior to VDC
Desktop analysis, bench-level simulations, and vehicle-level development tools
Climatic Wind Tunnel testing, proving ground development, and road facilities
Data acquisition (Vspy/neoVI, ETAS/INCA, Ipetroniks), data analysis (MS Office, SiL)
PRTS and CTMS – Development Work Tickets
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
2+ years of relevant engineering experience
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
Ability to travel up to 20%
Preferred
5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience
DFSS Green Belt or Black Belt certification
2+ years of experience in Propulsion Cooling or Underhood/Underbody Thermal Development and Validation
Experience with INCA, VSPY, CRETA, ITAS, or neoVI tools
