Inventory & Logistics Specialist

They are seeking a highly organized Inventory & Logistics Specialist responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, coordinating shipments, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure efficient supply chain flow.

Responsibilities
Perform routine cycle counts and full physical inventories
Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies
Maintain accurate inventory data within the ERP system
Update item master data, including descriptions, bin locations, and units of measure
Generate inventory reports, KPIs, and data analysis for management review
Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and product availability
Collaborate with purchasing to forecast demand and adjust inventory strategies
Coordinate inter-branch transfers, vendor returns, and returns to centralized distribution centers
Support warehouse teams in proper inventory handling, storage, and documentation
Assist in training warehouse staff on inventory procedures and system workflows
Track international and domestic shipments (ocean, air, LTL, parcel) from departure to delivery
Provide timely shipment updates and resolve transit issues proactively
Develop and execute load plans to optimize freight utilization and reduce costs
Coordinate and book ocean freight routes in alignment with production and delivery timelines
Oversee customs entry pre-approvals and ensure compliance with import/export regulations
Review and process freight, ocean, and drayage invoices for accuracy
Manage documentation for inbound/outbound shipments and direct international receipts
Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and third‑party logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery
Identify inefficiencies in inventory and logistics workflows and recommend improvements
Support implementation of best practices in inventory control, warehouse operations, and logistics
Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and branch management to align inventory and logistics with business needs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
2+ years of inventory control experience
3+ years of logistics or supply chain experience, including international shipping
Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/NetSuite preferred)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred
Familiarity with construction materials, components, or job‑site inventory workflows
Understanding of construction project timelines and how they impact material demand
Knowledge of lean inventory practices and cycle counting methodologies
Experience coordinating ocean, air, or domestic freight for construction-related products or equipment
