Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of advanced analytic models to assess risk and detect/prevent fraud
Develop scalable ETL and data storage solutions for complex datasets from multiple sources
Support and lead major business initiatives requiring analytical insights
Prepare detailed analytic design documentation and maintain thorough solution documentation
Oversee analytic data processes, program development, and implementation
Evaluate and recommend new analytical tools, techniques, and software; train team members as needed
Provide technical leadership and mentorship; manage a team of data scientists when necessary
Manage multiple projects concurrently, including timelines and deliverables
Present complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in all analytics work
Participate in background and drug screening
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
10+ years of data analytics experience in a data-rich environment (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of advanced programming experience for large-scale data manipulation and analysis
Financial services experience required
Expert-level experience in PySpark, Scala, and Hive
Advanced knowledge of machine learning, predictive modeling, and optimization techniques
Strong experience with industry-related analytical data sources
Proven ability to translate business requirements into analytic design
Exceptional communication skills and ability to present complex analyses to non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to lead large analytic projects and collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred
Experience building and deploying risk and fraud models into production
Strong understanding of banking regulations
Deep knowledge of advanced ML algorithms
Proficiency with ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, etc.)
Strong SQL writing and tuning experience
2+ years working with financial data
