Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to various data sensitive data sets
Monitor and manage security risks related to data, systems, and infrastructure
Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks
Collaborate with IT, compliance, security, and other teams to ensure alignment on security standards and regulatory requirements
Lead incident response efforts for security breaches or data leaks involving sensitive information
Stay current on emerging threats, security technologies, and healthcare regulatory changes impacting sensitive data
Coordinate with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and third-party vendors to ensure security compliance
Act as liaison between the HR, including but not limited to benefit plan(s), and the security team of the larger org
Manage security profiles of sensitive data containing applications

Required

In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA, HITECH, and relevant state laws
Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HITRUST
Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, DLP, firewalls, encryption)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field
5+ years of experience in information security, specifically within HR, healthcare or benefit plan environments

Preferred

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, HCISPP, or CISA are highly desirable
