Social Research Asst I (Temporary)

The NC Office of State Human Resources is seeking a temporary Social Research Assistant I to join their Labor Economics Analysis Division (LEADS). The primary purpose of this position is to collect, process, analyze, and edit employment, wage, industry, and location data reported by employers to ensure the quality of state and local economic data.

Collect, process, analyze, and edit employment, wage, industry, and location data reported by employers to ensure the quality of state and local economic data
Review survey responses for accuracy
Enter data into databases
Contact employers to verify responses
Resolve data discrepancies

Required

Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
Working knowledge of methods and techniques used in gathering, editing, analyzing, interpreting and reporting social, educational, or economic information
Working knowledge of statistical principles and techniques used in collecting, interpreting, and reporting numerical data
Bachelor's degree in education, business, sociology, economics, psychology or related to work performed from an appropriately accredited institution; or High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience involving collecting, interpreting, and reporting of statistical or social or economic data; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Benefits

Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).
