Deputy Town Clerk
The Town of Camp Verde is a full-service community serving over 12,000 citizens in Arizona. They are seeking a Deputy Town Clerk to coordinate technical and administrative functions, manage official records, and assist with election and budget activities.
Responsibilities
Coordinates and performs a variety of technical and administrative functions in support of Town Clerk’s Office operations
Assists in managing and maintaining the Town’s official records
Prepares and processes public and legal documents
Responds to constituent and staff issues and providing office administration oversight
Assists the Town Clerk with all election and budget activities
Serves as the Town Clerk in the absence of the Clerk
Qualification
Required
Coordinates and performs a variety of technical and administrative functions in support of Town Clerk's Office operations
Assists in managing and maintaining the Town's official records
Prepares and processes public and legal documents
Responds to constituent and staff issues and providing office administration oversight
Assists the Town Clerk with all election and budget activities
Serves as the Town Clerk in the absence of the Clerk
High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND two year's office support and computer experience, preferably in municipal government; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess State of Arizona Driver's license
Designation as Certified Municipal Clerk and Certified Municipal Elections Official or ability to obtain within (2) years of hire
Preferred
Knowledge of Town policies and procedures
Knowledge of Arizona Revised Statutes and Town regulations governing municipal government administration, open meeting laws, and elections laws
Knowledge of principles and practices of records retention, record keeping and file maintenance
Knowledge of customer service standards and protocols
Skill in entering information into a computer system with speed and accuracy, and maintaining electronic records, files and databases
Skill in coordinating the maintenance of records for all Town departments
Skill in preparing and writing reports and business correspondence
Skill in operating standard office equipment, and a personal computer utilizing standard software
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers and the public
Skill in providing effective customer service, and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public
Skill in communicating clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing

The Town participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), with a 12% Town and employee contribution rate, which is subject to change on an annual basis.
