Administrative Specialist I / Rehab Casework Technician

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is a large agency responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of all North Carolinians. The Administrative Specialist I / Rehab Casework Technician position involves providing direct administrative and casework support to a Rehabilitation Counselor, assisting individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment goals.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Interacting with consumers individually and in groups for the purpose of sharing and gathering information and documentation to assist counselors with determining eligibility, developing Individualized Plans for Employment, and providing vocational rehabilitation services
Documenting casework data and the provision of substantial services throughout the rehabilitation process in the case management system
Preparing documents, including invoices, billing documents, and correspondence to support consumer services
Providing follow-up with consumers, employers, schools, vendors, and other agency personnel as needed
Working with community employers using the Dual Customer Approach to directly place highly qualified consumers in appropriate jobs for successful outcomes
Assisting counselors and other rehabilitation staff with Employment Marketing Skills Workshops, job fairs, and other public events
Providing other support as designated by the counselor and completing all related administrative tasks
Preparing documents, including invoices, billing documents, and correspondence to support consumer services
Providing follow-up with consumers, employers, schools, vendors, and other agency personnel as needed
Assisting counselors and other rehabilitation staff with Employment Marketing Skills Workshops, job fairs, and other public events

Required

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Knowledge of and/or experience working with people with disabilities
Demonstrated experience performing routine administrative and office support functions such as data entry, document preparation, scheduling, and filing with accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated experience providing customer service and working effectively as part of a team
Flexibility and experience organizing multiple priority assignments in a fast pace setting
Knowledge of and/or experience utilizing electronic case management systems
