Responsibilities
Assist municipal customers with using information technology, troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve network data cabling/connectivity and desktop hardware/software/network problems; utilize specialized test equipment and software tools for troubleshooting
Assist with new hardware, software, data network installations or moves/adds/changes
Perform computer operations and systems administration functions on various municipal computing platforms
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and six (6) years of technical/professional MIS experience, working with clients on the resolution of computer problems and/or the configuration of hardware, software, and network facilities, one (1) year of which must be equivalent to Information Center Consultant I with the Municipality, or equivalent elsewhere
OR Associate's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, and four (4) years of technical/professional MIS experience, working with clients on the resolution of computer problems and/or the configuration of hardware, software, and network facilities, one (1) year of which must be equivalent to Information Center Consultant I with the Municipality, or equivalent elsewhere
OR Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, and two (2) years of technical/professional MIS experience, working with clients on the resolution of computer problems and/or the configuration of hardware, software, and network facilities, one (1) year of which must be equivalent to Information Center Consultant I with the Municipality, or equivalent elsewhere
Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver's License and satisfactory Driving Record at time of hire
Must have a satisfactory Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check within 30 days of hire
