CHIEF INFORMATION SECURITY OFF
The State of New Hampshire's Department of Information Technology is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to oversee cybersecurity operations and programs. The CISO will develop strategies to safeguard state networks and data, direct incident response efforts, and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity measures.

Responsibilities
Develops short and long-term layered strategies that meet functional, security and sustainability requirements; stay current on emerging technologies and recommend new platforms or enhancements to existing solutions to improve overall security posture
Maintain situational awareness; provide guidance to multi-organizational resources to address security in the network infrastructure, domains and groupware platforms, database servers and applications regarding threats, risks, and vulnerabilities
Direct NH Cyber Integration Center (NH-CIC) personnel with critical cybersecurity operational responsibilities for management and monitoring of the statewide Intrusion Prevention System (IPS); the Vulnerability Management System; and the Security Information and Event Management System (SIEM)
Develop and maintain statewide and technical security standards including policies, procedures, workflows and detailed device configurations; review statewide security platforms including email, Internet, server and endpoint protection, and mobile device encryption to ensure policy compliance and effectiveness
Direct incident response review, analysis, investigation, and remediation efforts; lead the Security Response Team (SRT) engaging senior management and technicians as required; develop prioritized action plans for remediation steps and mitigation measures
Chair the Cybersecurity Advisory Committee (CAC)
Coordinate with external entities on the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits; oversee the status and completion of assigned security tasks identified through independent security audits and assessments
Interface with contractors and vendors to address and review security aspects of new initiatives to ensure solutions incorporate appropriate security standards and controls
Oversees statewide cyber security awareness training and maintenance of the internal and external cybersecurity web pages
Partner with state, local and federal organizations involved in cybersecurity activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university, with a major in management information systems, computer information systems, or computer science
Ten years' experience in information technology and cybersecurity
Possess leadership capacity as well as experience directing technical teams and business partners in technology deployments and incident response management
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent experience in cybersecurity design, policy and compliance, access control, risk management, and operations, physical and network security
Knowledge of numerous technologies well versed in cybersecurity
Ability to balance security with state business requirements and platform supportability
Good communications, organizational, analytical, team building and collaboration skills
Must be eligible to hold a valid New Hampshire driver's license and have access to transportation for use in statewide travel
