Administrative Specialist I

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for the health and well-being of North Carolinians. The Administrative Specialist I position provides critical support across NCATP offices, including processing assistive technology requisitions, inventory control, and maintaining budgets.

Qualification

Required

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Basic knowledge of assistive technology
Basic knowledge of procurement methods and procedures
Knowledge of ordering and state processes/procedures
Knowledge of inventory control procedures
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other various computer hardware/software
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively
Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with staff, customers, and agency personnel
Ability to work with people with varied backgrounds and expertise
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with referring entities
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to troubleshoot problems effectively regarding inventory, computer issues, and order processing
