Assistant Director, Student Financial Assistance - Programs (FT), MFRE13600SFA
The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, and they are seeking an Assistant Director for Student Financial Assistance. This role is responsible for managing the financial aid office, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing leadership to the financial aid representatives.

Responsibilities
Provide direction and leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Financial Assistance with special emphasis on compliance, efficient use of technology, communications, student literacy, and financial aid planning
Conduct regular reviews and audit of financial aid files & policies for accuracy and compliance with standardized procedures and current regulations. Ensure FERPA policy is being followed consistently
Provide assistance to external customers as needed, e.g., Admissions, Registrar, Veteran Services, etc. Serves as an authoritative resource for the campus, and represents the financial aid office when needed
Remain current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses
Provide direct supervision and leadership to the Financial Aid Representatives
Investigate, analyze and resolve escalated inquiries unable to be answered at the Representative level
Identify and analyze unusual problems pertaining to financial aid with emphasis towards problem resolution and student service
Supports the Director in the preparation of FISAP and IPEDS
Serve on professional judgment committee and make decisions in concert with policies and procedures in determining student eligibility
Contribute to the implementation and assist in the development, modification of and writing Financial Aid policies and procedures for the office
Create and promote a culture that values and prioritizes high quality service delivery for the students and their families
Represent the Director as needed

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Education, Business, or related field required
3 - 5 years successfully administering Title IV, HEA programs required
2 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience managing a medium to large Financial Aid operation required
Deep knowledge of state and federal financial aid regulations; maintains an awareness of proposed changes and trends required
Strong written and verbal communications with proven ability to maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external constituents in order to provide support for the office and the students it serves required
Experience utilizing federal and state electronic systems (such as GAP, COD, NSLDS, CPS) required
Preferred
Three or more years direct Financial Aid experience in a large comprehensive community college environment preferred
Experience working with Ellucian Colleague preferred
