Paralegal, Office of the Solicitor General
Virginia Office of the Attorney General is seeking a Senior Paralegal for the Office of the Solicitor General. This role involves providing advanced legal support, managing legal cases, supervising junior paralegals, and assisting with trial preparation to ensure effective legal service delivery.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all aspects of legal cases, including document management, research, and case strategy
Review, analyze, and organize large volumes of legal documents and evidence
Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare case summaries for attorneys
Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements
Assist in the preparation of trial binders, exhibits, and trial presentations
Coordinate and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and external stakeholders
Supervise and provide guidance to junior paralegals, assigning tasks and ensuring quality work
Assist in the development and implementation of departmental processes and procedures
Monitor and manage case deadlines, court filings, and discovery requests
Stay updated on legal industry trends and developments
Qualification
Required
A minimum of six years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department
Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and terminology
Proficiency in using legal research tools, case management software, and document management systems
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
Supervisory experience and leadership qualities
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
Familiarity with e-discovery tools and trial presentation software is an advantage
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in a related field or completion of a paralegal certificate program is preferred
