InternDenver Water is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their Mechanical Engineering Team. The intern will assist Professional Engineers and Engineering Associates on various projects related to mechanical systems and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Assist other Professional Engineers and Engineering Associates working on mechanical systems related to Pump Stations, Hydroelectric Power Plants, Valve Vaults, Water Treatment Plants, Reservoir Outlet Works, Gates, Valves, Hydraulic Power Units, HVAC and ancillary systems
System design and operation troubleshooting and calculations
Contract Management and Services During Construction including technical reviews conforming to material specifications, site visits and inspections, equipment start up and commissioning
Site inspections to verify proper operating parameters
Studies to improve operational efficiency
Scanning, organizing, and filing of project documents
Qualification
Required
Attention to detail
Ability/desire to work independently and with a team
Good communication skills
Technical writing experience
Affinity towards construction and building meaningful projects that improve the quality of life in the Denver Metro area
Self-motivated
Inquisitive
Enjoy working as a team and advancing projects from design through construction
Experience using engineering calculation software such as MATLAB, Mathcad, Engineering Equation Solver, or similar
Preferred
Previous coursework in Classical Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Introductory Electrical Circuits, Numerical Methods/Programming, and Machine Design
