Responsibilities
Demonstrate foundational packaging development capabilities, including building and testing unit loads, determining primary package sizing, executing package performance testing, leading plant trials, selecting appropriate test methods, and interpreting results
Represent the packaging function in cross‑functional team discussions to ensure alignment on project goals and technical requirements
Learn and apply the Formula Management System to create, update, and maintain accurate packaging specifications
Understand the interaction between packaging, product, and manufacturing processes to support robust design and operational efficiency
Build strong partnerships with suppliers to identify opportunities for material, design, and equipment improvements
Troubleshoot issues during line trials and package testing for projects of low to moderate complexity, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
Analyze and interpret data to guide decision‑making and support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
4 year Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Science/Engineering and 2 or more years of work experience in packaging engineering
Proficiency in MS office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred
MS Project (project management software) or similar
Knowledge of Statistics, Lean six Sigma and/or data analysis
Proficient in unit load software - Cape Pack, Tops
Materials knowledge in flexible films, rigid plastics, corrugated, and decorating technologies
