Responsibilities
Navigating Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as our growing cloud environment, with secondary familiarity in AWS or Azure
Building and deploying containers to production, specifically utilizing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or similar modern orchestration systems
Proficiency in relational and document databases; we currently utilize PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cloud Spanner/Bigtable
Designing and implementing tools to automate developer needs, such as Google Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins for seamless application deployment
Utilizing tools like Terraform or Pulumi to manage scalable cloud resources
Working directly with Software Engineers to improve code quality, optimize system design, and accelerate the development lifecycle
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related software engineering roles
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, or Java)
Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams
Building platforms that enable application engineers to efficiently deliver tech solutions without friction
Writing code that is clean, well-documented, and easy to iterate on
Achieving high standards in the development lifecycle through proactive monitoring and performance tuning
Maintaining high integration and unit test coverage to ensure confidence in every ship
Using automation and documentation to empower developers to be self-sufficient rather than dependent on the DevOps team
