Responsibilities
Own the monthly close cycle from start to finish, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Analyze monthly financial results, uncovering trends, variances, and improvement opportunities while providing clear insights and recommendations to leadership
Complete detailed balance sheet account reconciliations each month, ensuring accuracy, proper support, and timely resolution of discrepancies
Partner with the FP&A team to support forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting activities on a monthly and annual basis
Assist with internal and external audit requests, regulatory filings, and compliance reporting at the federal, state, and local levels
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows, driving efficiency and accuracy across the department
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting with 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
Prior experience in public accounting, ideally within a Big 6 firm
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with senior leaders and cross-functional partners
Solid understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial analysis
Business-minded approach with the ability to think strategically and proactively
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with in-office collaboration in Brickell every other week (Monday–Thursday)
Preferred
CPA certification strongly preferred
