Managing Director - Fund Accounting & Finance $200-250k plus bonus
Bell & Associates, Inc. is an Executive Recruiting & Staffing leader based in Kansas City. They are seeking a Managing Director who will lead and oversee a team responsible for the operational and financial management of private equity funds, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all fund-related processes.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership to a team managing multiple private equity funds
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all fund-related activities, including daily operations, monthly closings, quarterly reporting, and annual audits
Oversee compliance with fund governing documents, investor agreements, and regulatory requirements
Establish and maintain robust processes for capital calls, distributions, valuations, and performance reporting
Monitor fund liquidity, cash management, and expense allocations
Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Oversee preparation and delivery of investor communications, including capital account statements, quarterly reports, and annual financial statements
Collaborate with investor relations and deal teams to ensure transparency and responsiveness to investor inquiries
Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit standards, and compliance frameworks
Identify and mitigate operational risks across fund structures
Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing professionals within the fund operations team
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
10 - 15 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial services, with a focus in fund accounting, alternative investment, and client facing experience
Experience working with a combination of investment, accounting, operations, technology, tax, compliance and legal teams
Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex fund structures
Strong knowledge of GAAP, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in financial software and systems, and strong communication and leadership abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong accounting and organizational background are necessary
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must be a team player
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates integrity and a stellar work ethic
Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA
Preferred
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex and large data sets
Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and accounting principles and methodologies
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members at all levels
Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented and the ability to work independently and under pressure
