Responsibilities
Keeps the work area clean and ready for daily operations
Ensures conveyor bearings are clean and properly greased
Sorts only copper and ASR to ensure quality material is shipped to customers
Reports any issues immediately as they arise
Assists shredder mechanics during projects
Assists in meeting monthly production goals
Performs other duties as assigned
Performs lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures before working on any plant equipment
Cross-trains in other departments to provide coverage during short staffing or call-ins
Qualification
Required
Completion of High School and/or equivalent
Occasional additional hours, including weekends, may be required depending on operational needs
Ability to push, pull and lift materials up to 40 lbs
Standing for up to 12 hours, regular walking, squatting and climbing
Mechanically inclined
Self-motivated: Initiates and takes action before being required to do so
Strong work ethic: uses time efficiently, work safely and making sure everyone around them are working safely
Strong command of the English language both written and spoken
All applicants must be eligible to work in the USA
Preferred
Some Recycling/Mining experience will be considered an asset
