DEPUTY CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
City of South Fulton is seeking a Deputy Chief Financial Officer to drive the strategic direction of the city’s financial operations. The role involves supporting the CFO in managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, as well as ensuring fiscal accountability and compliance with internal controls.

Responsibilities
In coordination with the CFO, develops, documents, and implements financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure fiscal accountability, as well as consistency and continuity of operations
Monitors and analyzes financial performance, providing guidance and recommendations to the CFO and other senior-level management
Oversees the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to assess the organization's financial performance and provide guidance for decision-making
Assists the CFO in managing the budgeting process, ensures compliance with internal controls, and coordinates financial audits
Leads the development of short and long-term financial plans and forecasts
Monitors the development and implementation of accounting systems and controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data
Reviews and approves monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Develops and supports a robust staff training and development program
In conjunction with the CFO, maintains relationships with external auditors, bankers, other financial institutions, and government agencies
In conjunction with the CFO, oversees the development and implementation of the departmental core functions
In coordination with the CFO, develops and monitors departmental performance measures, goals, and objectives in line with the City of South Fulton’s Goals and Objectives. (GAAP)
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with City staff
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff. Establishes workloads and prioritizes work assignments; motivates/guides subordinates toward accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures

Qualification
Required
Requires master's degree in accounting, business, public or business administration or a related field; supplemented by at least eight (8) years of experience in financial management, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Proven track record in financial planning and analysis
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Proficiency with financial software and systems
Never been convicted of a felony
A citizen of the United States or has obtained legal work status
Must meet the City's background requirements
Must be able to be bonded and pass a credit check
Work evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required
Requires a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history
Preferred
Experience with Edmunds or Tyler preferred
Certified Public Finance Administrator (CPFA); Certified Public Funds Investment Manager (CPFIM); or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) preferred
