Brownfields Project Manager (Geologist/Hydrologist II)

Responsibilities

Negotiates contracts with non-responsible parties (NRP) for the assessment and remediation of properties/sites
Manages or supports the oversight of voluntary cleanup of NRP properties
Administers and oversees site-specific environmental assessments and/or cleanups at Brownfields properties
Supports the Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act (SBLR&BRA) requirements for SC’s Brownfields/VCP
Assists in the implementation of the VCP in South Carolina to include the review and oversight of work performed by EPA Grantees
Performs related duties

Required

A bachelor's degree in geology, hydrology, hydrogeology or geological engineering and one (1) year of related experience
A master's degree in geology, hydrology, hydrogeology or geological engineering
Ability to review and analyze technical documents and files regarding the assessment and cleanup of sites
Provide oversight of the assessment and cleanup of sites
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a culturally competent manner
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Must have a valid driver's license, 10-year driving record that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines, and the ability to drive a state vehicle

Preferred

Experience working with: Microsoft Office applications; CERCLA Statute; environmental sampling methodologies; preparing environmental investigation reports; ePermitting
Knowledge of the CERCLA and Brownfields Revitalization Acts
Experience in preparing technical work scopes and providing oversight of technical work conducting environmental assessments
Hold SC GIT or PG registration
