Quality Engineering Specialist
Confidential company is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist to investigate and resolve quality issues through audits and continuous improvement projects. The role involves maintaining quality performance metrics and overseeing incoming inspections in accordance with customer and supplier agreements.

Responsibilities
Perform and maintain monthly DMR and supplier chargebacks of non-conforming product
Coordinate and establish incoming inspection activities
Maintain and update incoming inspection logs to conform to TS16949 and customer requirements
Facilitate the testing of incoming supplier material as required in ISIR, PPAP, and customer agreements
Maintain Customer/ supplier PPAPs and ISIRs documents
Maintain and store supplier COAs and inspection reports
Create and maintain supplier PPM and score card to provide to supplier and management
Maintain KPIs such as Customer PPM and chargeback amounts to be reported on a weekly and monthly basis for management and suppliers
Create and maintain supplier audit schedule in accordance to TS16949 requirements
Conduct supplier audits in accordance to audit schedule to drive process standardization, waste elimination and continuous improvements
Evaluate new suppliers and existing suppliers for risk assessment to establish necessary incoming requirements. Aide development and manufacturing in the evaluation and of new suppliers
Control of supplier non-conforming product in ISOX system
Assist in achieving quality goals
Resolve Customer/supplier related issues
Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformance
Responsible for maintaining and acquiring countermeasures from suppliers, along with follow up verification of such activities
Serve as a resource to production, logistics and maintenance team members and answer questions and research answers for them
Maintain quality files and documentation (hard copies and files in computer system)
Responsible for controlling and disposition of nonconforming product
Conduct internal Quality Management System, manufacturing process, product, and layered process audits. Create audit reports and load them to the computer system
Email daily reports to quality management staff
Assist and perform product sorts and investigation for defective material in house as well as at customer facility
Initiate 3rd party sorts and facilitate with suppliers regarding rejected material
Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures
Assist in maintaining measuring equipment inventory/calibration
Perform Measurement Systems Analysis to ensure quality of measurement systems
Work overtime as assigned by management including movement of shift and/or locations. Must be flexible
All other duties as assigned by management
Conduct training on inspection and measurement techniques
Conduct investigations per the Quality Engineer/Manager
Interact with customer during investigations/containment activities
Travel to supplier’s location (domestic and overseas) to resolve quality issues
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required for this position
Good knowledge about measuring instruments, gages and measuring methods
Able to read schematics and follow work instructions as well as make independent judgments based on data collected
Good math, written and oral skills, and work well with diverse groups of people
Must have valid driver license in good standing and the ability to travel abroad
Preferred
Preference given for ability to read blue prints, knowledge about Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Automotive experience with knowledge about Quality Systems is preferred
Advanced computer skills using Microsoft office applications
Knowledge of various quality system methodologies 8D, Lean, 5 Why, Pareto analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc, preferred
