The Network Manager I position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the NC FAST Networking and Server Support teams, managing daily operations and ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the NC FAST Networking and Server Support teams
Managing daily operations
Developing and implementing effective processes and procedures
Ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance reporting
Recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of team members
Performance management and disciplinary actions when necessary
Leads planning and analysis efforts related to network infrastructure and server technologies
Managing infrastructure hardware hosted in Raleigh and Forest City, NC
Establishing and maintaining operational standards and documentation for both network and server support functions

Qualification

Telecommunications network managementNetwork infrastructure planningShell scriptingApplication development toolsTeam leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management, analysis, or design
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management, analysis, or design
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and eight years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management, analysis, or design
an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Experience troubleshooting shell scripts in Unix environment
Experience with application development tools and techniques
