Responsibilities
Partner closely with suppliers to ensure high-quality component production
Conduct multi-stage inspections at supplier sites
Perform supplier audits for onboarding and qualification
Resolve technical supplier queries related to materials, dimensions, coatings, welding, and fabrication
Support and update project quality processes as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
Strong experience with heavy steel metal fabrication and welding
Exposure to forging, casting, machining, and sheet metal fabrication
Solid understanding of material standards, AWS welding standards, and complex engineering drawings
Knowledge of GD&T, DFM concepts, and sheet metal design/manufacturing
Experience in heavy engineering environments such as Automotive, Aerospace, Locomotive, Truck manufacturing, or Heavy machinery / earth-moving equipment
Ability to partner closely with suppliers to ensure high-quality component production
Conduct multi-stage inspections at supplier sites
Perform supplier audits for onboarding and qualification
Resolve technical supplier queries related to materials, dimensions, coatings, welding, and fabrication
Support and update project quality processes as required
Preferred
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
Prior Supplier Quality Engineering experience in heavy machinery environments
